Bill of Materials Lookup
The Bill of Materials Lookup program is used to display the Bill of Material records that have been entered into the system, and to select to select the Bill of Materials to be used for a specific shop order. The Bill of Materials Lookup program is also used to display the Bills of Material for a specific item number in programs such as the Inventory Management program.
The Bill of Materials Lookup program allows you to select the Bills of Materials to be displayed in the program based on the BOM Type and Status assigned to the Bill of Materials, and it also allows you to access detailed information about each Bill of Materials displayed by the program. This detailed information includes the items and quantities contained in the Bill of Materials, the cost of the top level and component items that are defined in the bill of materials and any Inventory Manufacturing or BOM comment information that has been entered for the items included in the Bill of Materials.
When the Bill of Materials Lookup program is activated, the records which are displayed by the program are determined by
• Where the program is called from. If the Bill of Materials Lookup is called by the Shop Order Management program, it will display all Bills of Materials in the system based on the selections made in the Type window and Status checkboxes located in the lower section of the program. If the Bill of Materials Lookup is called from the Inventory Management program it will display only the Bills of Materials that have been entered for the item that is selected when the program is activated (and which have a type and status that match the selections used in the lower section of the program.
• The Status Checkboxes and Type Window: Regardless of whether the Bill of Materials Lookup is being used to display all BOMs in the system or the BOMs for a specific item number, only the Bill of Materials which have a status and type that match the current status code and type selections will be displayed in the program.
