Daily Startup Procedures

1.  Verify or change system year and period. – Bank transactions are normally posted to the general ledger using the current system year and period.  If the year or period displayed by the system does not correspond with the correct calendar or fiscal year and period for your company, you should resolve the error before processing any transactions.

2.  Verify or change system date.  The system date is normally set automatically by the system.  The date can be updated using the Job Processor, or each time a user logs in.  You should verify that the correct date is shown on the menu and in any processing programs you will be using before you begin to process transactions.
