Duplicate Item

The Duplicate Item option – which can be selected using the More Menu, allows you to duplicate the information for the selected Catalog record so that it can be used to create a new Catalog record.  When a valid record is loaded into the Catalog Manager and the Duplicate Item option is selected, the system prompts you to enter the new Item Number for the Catalog record.  This Catalog Item Number must be unique (you will receive a duplicate records error if you try to enter the Item number of an existing Catalog record).

Once you have entered the Item number for the new Catalog record, the system will create (save) the new record and it will load the record into the Catalog Manager program so that you can modify the new record as required.

Please note:  When you duplicate an existing Catalog record, certain critical fields from the original record, such as the STK flag and the Serial flag for the item are copied from the existing Catalog record and they may not be changed.

Also, the system creates (saves) the new Catalog record when you use the duplicate option, but it will not create Inventory Items for the new Catalog item (if your system is configured to do so) until you press the Save Key in the Catalog Manager program.
