The Inventory Adjustment program uses a Generic Code or “Gencode” Table to define the inventory adjustment codes that can be used on the system. This Gencode table “IAUCODES” also defines the General Ledger Account that the value of each adjustment should be posted to. You should not process any inventory adjustments until this Gencode table has been set up and the General Ledger information has been defined and created.
The following are some example adjustment codes that indicate how the Inventory Adjustment Codes table should be set up. For more information about Gencode Table setup and maintenance, please refer to the System Administrators Reference section of the documentation.
