The Serial Management program allows you to create Serial Master records for serialized inventory items that are already showing on hand in the system. The import process creates a Serial Master record for a specific inventory location with a status of I for In Stock (available for sale). The option can be used for system conversions (to import the serial detail for the beginning inventory quantities), or for error recovery (to input the serial numbers for an item had the serial flag set incorrectly, and was received without serial numbers).
