Keyword Information Storage

The keywords to be used for each Catalog item can be contained or stored in the following places

•      Specific fields in each Catalog record.  A Textdata control record is used to define the specific field numbers in each Catalog record that should be used by the Keyword programs.  The information in each of these fields is parsed (separated into unique words) and keywords are created for each catalog item for each “word” that is contained in any of the fields.

•      Comments that are attached to the catalog record.  Inventory comments (text notes that are associated with each Catalog record) which have line numbers above 1000 can be used to add keywords for an item when the keyword is not contained in any of the fields in the Catalog record that are used by the keyword rebuild process.

•      A Textdata control record that can be used to add additional keywords for a specific item.

•      The Product Management System includes a program that can be used to define the fields and other information to be used by the Keyword Search system, and to rebuild the Keyword and Wordlist files that are used by the system to store keyword information.
