Main Section

The Main or upper Section of the Item Demand program displays the Warehouse Location, Item Number, Manufacturers Item Number and the Description for the selected Inventory Item.  This information (aside from the location) is maintained in the Catalog record for the item.

The Main Section of the Item Demand Program also includes two prompt buttons that are located to the right of the item description.  These prompt buttons allow you to access the Inventory Detail Panel and the Catalog Detail panel so that you can view or modify the Inventory and Catalog records for the item.

The quantity fields that are located in the Main Section of the Item Demand program display the current quantities for the inventory item in the selected location.  The quantities displayed include the following.

Qty Oh:  The current quantity of the item that is on hand (on the shelves) in the current inventory location

Alloc:  The current quantity of the item that has been allocated to (assigned to) the open shop and sales orders in the system.

Safety Stock:  The total safety stock that has been defined for the inventory item in the selected inventory location.  Safety Stock is used to reserve inventory quantities and the system will not automatically allocate below the safety stock level defined for the item (you must manually allocate safety stock).

=: The Number shown next to this label is the quantity that is currently available to be allocated for the item (the on hand quantity, less the allocated quantity, less the safety stock quantity for the item).

Qty Rsv:  The quantity of the item that has been reserved for open and backorderd sales orders and open shop orders that are within the current scheduling window for the item.

Tot Rsv:  The total quantity of the item that has been reserved for open and backordered sales orders and open shop orders, regardless of when the orders are scheduled.
