Right Mouse or Context Menu.

The Right Mouse or the Context Menu contains context sensitive program options.  These program options are context sensitive in that the options that are available depend on the context or program and field that you are in when you press the Right Mouse Button.

Form Based programs – In form based programs such as the Customer or Vendor Manager, the Right Mouse or Context Menu will normally include the following options.

      Zoom – Get more information about the currently selected record.

      Prompt -  Display the validation table used for the current field.

      Data Change History – The Data Change History Display any changes that have been made to the currently selected field in the record.  This option also allows you to access any changes that have been made to other fields in the currently selected record.

      Field Help – Displays the Data Dictionary Field Help program which displays descriptive information about the currently selected database field.  The Data Dictionary Field Help program also allows you to access information about the file that the field is contained in, or about other files and fields in the system.

      Editor Commands (cut, copy paste).  The common windows editing commands are usually available in form based programs so that you can copy and paste information between windows or fields.

      Additional Program Specific Options – Program specific Context Menu options are described in the main help documentation for each program.

List based programs – In list based programs such as the AR and AP Invoice Lookup programs or the Customer Management program, the Right Mouse or Context Menu will normally include the following options.

      Zoom – View additional detail about the currently selected record.  This typically means displaying the record in a detail panel or loading the record into a program for editing.

      Expand – View information that is related to the currently selected record.  This option would normally display the line items associated with a Sales Order or Invoice Header record, or

      Column Help - Displays the Data Dictionary Field Help program which displays descriptive information about the currently selected database field (based on the column that was selected when you selected the option.   The Data Dictionary Field Help program also allows you to access information about the file that the field is contained in, or about other files and fields in the system.

      Additional Program Specific Options - To use the Customer Management program as an example, the Right Mouse or Context Menu contains the standard Zoom, Expand and Column Help options, and it also contains options that are specific to Customer Management such as the following

      Loaners Lookup – View the Loaners for the company

      Buying Groups – View or modify which Buying Groups the company belongs to.

      Special Pricing – View or edit the special pricing records that have been set up for the company.

      Cross Reference Table – View or edit the cross reference items for the selected company.

      Company Item Comments – View or edit the Company/Item comments for the selected company.
