Once you have determined how many periods you will use for posting transactions in each accounting year, and once the General Ledger Account structure has been created and other setup tasks have been performed, you can begin processing transactions. This section describes why controlling the general ledger default accounting year and period is critical to proper system behavior. This section also describes how the system determines which accounting period a given transaction should be posted to. The difference between the System Default Accounting Period and the Period that is maintained in each StreamV Operator record is also discussed in this section.
