Value Adjustment Manager

The Value Adjustment Manager is used to set up and maintain the records in the VADJUST or Value Adjustments File (File 212).

Entity Name Window:  The Entity Name window displays the entity (Company, Buying Group, Vendor) or the type (GSA, Sale, Quantity) of value adjustment record being created or edited.   The Entity Name window is loaded when you select an existing Value Adjustment record using the prompt button that is located next to the window, and it is also loaded when you use one the Buttons in the program to create a new Value Adjustment record.

Prompt Button:  The Prompt Button next to the Entity Name window is used to select an existing Value Adjustment record for display or editing.  When the prompt button is pressed, the system displays the Value Adjustments Lookup Table, which displays all of the value adjustment records that have been set up.  Once the Value Adjustments Lookup is displayed, you may select the appropriate record by highlighting it and using the Select Button (or double-clicking the record with the left mouse button).  Once you have selected a valid record, the system will load the information from the record into the Value Adjustment Manager.

Company Button: Used to create a new Value Adjustment record for a specific customer.  When the Customer Button is pressed, the system activates the Customer Lookup program.  The Customer Lookup program displays all of the customers that have been created in your system and it allows you to search for and select a customer using any of the several different display sequences that are available in the program.  Once you have selected a valid Company, the system loads the Company into the Entity Name window and you may specify the other required information for the record.

BGroup Button: Used to create a new Value Adjustment record for a specific Buying Group.  When the BGroup Button is pressed, the system activates the Buying Group Lookup program.  The Buying Group Lookup program displays all of the buying groups that have been created in your system and it allows you to select the buying group to be loaded into the program.  Once you have selected a valid Buying Group, the system loads the Buying Group into the Entity Name window and you may specify the other required information for the record.

Sale Button: The Sale Button is used to create a new Value Adjustment record for SALE pricing.  When you press the SALE Button, the system clears any information that is currently loaded into the program and it loads SALE into the Entity Name window.  At this point, you can add the other required information for the new record and save it using the Save option (save key or button).

Quantity Button: The Quantity Button is used to create a new Value Adjustment record for QUANTITY pricing.  When you press the Quantity Button, the system clears any information that is currently loaded into the program and it loads QUANTITY into the Entity Name window.  At this point, you can add the other required information for the new value adjustment record and save it using the Save option (save key or button).

GSA Button: The GSA Button is used to create a new value Adjustment record for GSA pricing.  When you press the GSA Button, the system clears any information that is currently loaded into the program and it loads GSA into the Entity Name window.  At this point, you can add the other required information for the new value adjustment record and save it using the Save option (save key or button).

Vendor Button: Used to create a new Value Adjustment record for a specific vendor.  When the Vendor Button is pressed, the system activates the Vendor Lookup program.  The Vendor Lookup program displays all of the vendors that have been created in your system and it allows you to search for and select a vendor using any of the several different display sequences that are available in the program.  Once you have selected a valid vendor, the system loads the vendor name into the Entity Name window and you may specify the other required information for the record.  Please Note that Vendor based value adjustment records are used by the Purchasing System – not by order entry.  These records are described in more detail in the docs for the Purchasing system.

Prodline Window:  The optional inventory product line that the value adjustment should be applied to.  If the Product Line is not loaded, the value adjustment is available for all product lines.

Class Window:  The optional inventory product class that the value adjustment should be applied to.  If a Class is not loaded, the value adjustment is available for all item classes.

Qty: The Minimum Quantity required to qualify for the discount or markup factor to be applied.

Type:  The Type field indicates the type of Entity that the value adjustment is associated with.  The Type field is automatically loaded by the system based on the type of record being created.  Valid Value Adjustment record types include C (customer), B (buying group), S (sale), Q (quantity), G (GSA), and V (vendor).   The system will only apply value adjustments when the entity name (customer name, buying group name, vendor name, GSA, SALE, or QTY) in the Quantity Adjustment record matches the entity name in the special price record being used
