Item Cross Reference Lookup

The Item Cross Reference Lookup program is used to view and edit the Cross Reference records for a specific Catalog Item Number.

Cross Reference records allow you to cross reference the items numbers that are used by your customers, customer buying groups and vendors with your internal item numbers and to use the customer, buying group or vendor item number during transaction processing.

The Item Cross Reference Lookup program allows you to

View the Cross Reference records that have been created in the system for a specific Catalog item.

Edit existing Cross Reference records for a specific Catalog item.

Create new Customer Cross Reference records for a Catalog item

Cross Reference records allow you to associate one or more of your internal item numbers with the item numbers that are used by the companies that you do business with.  Cross Reference records allow you to lookup and to select an item based on the item number that is being used by a specific customer, buying group (group of customers), vendor, or manufacturer.  Cross Reference records can also be used to associate an internal alternate item number to a specific item in the Catalog file.  Item Cross Reference  information is described in more detail in the Overview section of this document.

The Item Cross Reference Lookup can be activated from the Catalog Manager or the Catalog Detail programs when a valid Catalog record is loaded into programs.

When the Item Cross Reference Lookup is activated, it will display the records that have been entered into the Cross Reference file for the selected Catalog record using the default display index for the program.  At this point, you can accept or change the display sequence as appropriate.
