Operator Security

Each operator in the system is assigned an Operator ID and a password, that should be used and kept secret.  The operator record also contains an option level that is used by the system to control access to programs.  Option levels 1 – 7 are used for most operators.  Level 8 and 9 are restricted to system level operators (sysops).

Note:  A level 9 operator has unrestricted access to system administration options and this option level can also bypass the other security options discussed in the following sections.
